In 2005, I started my home business in producing handicraft, specifically gift box. It was a trial error process until I decided to focus in that product. As I wrote before that I wanted to do something to make me feel worthy again. I tried to make felt creation but not working, I sold rice at home as reseller, but also failed. I joined an insurance company as a finance consultant but still far from success. I was starting to loose hope.....................until I had new energy to make gift box.
At that time, I stayed in Jakarta, my husband gave my birthday present in a very beautiful gift box. After several days, I ask his premission to brake the gift box to observe how to make it, what ingredients to make it....
Back to surabaya again I started to find stores which sell the material to make gift box. It wasn't that easy because some material is not familiar to be sold in common bookstore. Searching to some paper wholesaler, I found the right thing to start creation...
I started with a very minus condition....my first daughter was still 3 years old...I had to divide my concentration in creating gift box and taking care my kids. It wasn't easy...trust me...tears and sweat have been my friends in the journey of starting my own business!!
Words of mouth marketing was very effective to introduce my creation to my customer. My husband also supports me with his knowledge in business; creating articles, pricing, negotiating with bookstores to have consignment cooperation, administration stuff, etc...
